As a traditional sport, falconry fascinates Emirates and the Emiratis. The falcon is known as the at-Tair al-hoor which means ‘’the free bird’’. Emiratis have a predilection for the Saker falcon and the Peregrine falcon, although other species remains very popular as Gyrfalcon, falcons and barbaric hybrid. But falcons remain delicate birds and require special care, and since UAE is the Cradle of modern falconry, it has developed specificities such as the Emirates falconer's club and the Abu Dhabi Falcon Hospital.
